What to expect

Our newborn session will be relaxed, and baby-led.
There’s no pressure for your baby (or siblings) to be “perfect.” We’ll take breaks as needed for feeding, changing, and soothing.
These sessions focus on connection—snuggling your baby, soaking in the little details, and capturing this stage naturally.

Full Belly

Try to feed baby right before the session begins (or when I arrive). A full belly almost always means a sleepier baby!

Sleepy

Try and keep baby awake for at least 60 minutes before session time. A bath, diaper change, or a little extra stimulation can help. A tired baby typically sleeps more soundly during posing.

Toasty

Babies are happiest and sleepiest when they’re warm and cozy.

If your session is in your home, please make sure the space is warmer than you’d normally keep it (around 75 degrees)

Comfortable

Even if baby only occasionally uses a pacifier, please have it within reach — it can be very helpful during transitions between poses. Loosen diaper/clothing before the session to avoid marks on the skin.

Don’t stress if things don’t go exactly as planned

— this is completely normal with newborns!

What should baby wear?

I typically bring a selection of soft, neutral outfits along with wraps, swaddles, and textures that photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your baby. These pieces are thoughtfully chosen to create a timeless, cohesive look for your session. So no need to stress!

If you have a special outfit you’d love to incorporate, you’re absolutely welcome to include it—just try to keep it neutral, soft, and comfortable. I recommend avoiding bulky outfits, bright colors, or anything stiff or distracting. Simple is always best.
